On the slopes

Ski Trip
There are so many great reasons to be a part of the Northcote High School ski trip. Whether it is spending some quality time with friends, making new friends or learning new skills. Many students used it to improve their slope style, and even more took the opportunity to throw snowballs at teachers. This camp really has something for everyone.
This year we were fortunate to have excellent snow conditions, great teachers (who were ready to take a fall) and most importantly, a group of young people that were kind to each other, inclusive and terrific school representatives.
Over the three days we spent at Mt Hotham we saw first timers learn the basics and challenge themselves to ski/board around the mountain. We also saw intermediate and experienced skiers/boarders tackle a range of terrains, chase the powder and from time to time get some air.
Each day students spent the morning in group lessons and the afternoons were spent in small groups skiing at level with peers and teachers. Students from Years 8 through to 11 were represented and there was a really valuable opportunity for students to interact between year levels based on ski experience.
A big thank you to Sarah Blanchard for making this event possible and run in such a smooth and safe way.
