Parent teacher student interviews

There will be more virtual parents teacher student interviews on Thursday 25 March. There are no classes on site that day.  Students are expected to attend any PTS interviews booked with their parents.

Winter uniforms

Winter uniform options can be worn from the start of term 2. Be prepared by purchasing your winter items now. The second-hand uniform shop has a large stock of good quality winter skirts and shirts. The PFA run uniform shop is open Tuesday 3.15 to 4.15pm and Friday 8.15 to 9.15am during school term.

Bob Stewart Mentone is offering appointments for winter uniform fittings until Thursday 1 April. Go to www.bobstewart.com.au and click on MGSC's page and then select the link to book an appointment. If appointment times don't suit you are welcome to visit the store during normal trading hours.

Information Night - Wednesday 21 April

Our annual Open Night will be an Information Night at 7pm, Wednesday 21 April in the gym. There will be presentations from staff with some students involved. In place of the entire campus being open, extra College Tours have been added for early in term 2.

If our school community know of families interested in joining MGSC at year 7 in 2022 or beyond, please encourage them to attend the information night and book a college tour.

Applications for the Enhancement Program for year 7 in 2022 are now open.

The school website has links to register for the information evening and book a tour plus all the relevant information about the Enhancement Program.

Compass

Compass will be upgrading the appearance and usability of areas of their platform over the coming months. At MGSC, it commenced on Tuesday 16 March with a new

  • login page
  • header across all modules
  • homepage

These are design changes only. Compass functionality will not be affected.

Compass is the main portal of communication with our students and our parents. We are looking at ways to improve and consolidate the information for parents on Compass.

Filing cabinets

Following re-organising and rationalising of offices and work spaces some filing cabinets have become excess to need. They are in various sizes and condition and do not have keys. Examples of some below. We are offering them to our extended school community 'free to a good home'.

For more information contact the Facilities Manager Bronwen Peterson on 9581 5222 or email Bronwen.Peterson@education.vic.gov.au by Wednesday 31 March.

PTV information for students

The PTV has provided some useful information for students using public transport.  2020 was an unusual year for our students as buses replaced trains during the removal of the Mentone level crossing or they were not commuting at all to MGSC. The letter below may hold some useful tips for our bus and trains users.
