Swimming Carnival Dates
The 2021 Interhouse Swimming carnival will be held over two sessions. Please see below for further details. Parents are encouraged to attend and support at these carnivals.
Long Course Events: Monday 1 Mar 3.30-5.30pm – Mount Alvernia Pool
This event is for all Butterfly and 100m/200m Events as part of the Interhouse Carnival point system. If you are wishing to obtain Age Champion Status this is a must-do event.
Interhouse Carnival Day – Friday 5 March – Centenary Pool
This is the big day for house competition. Battle it out over the day for glory in the house competition.
Age Champion Swimmers
Each year we celebrate our most successful swimmers. To be named age champion your score will be tracked throughout the Monday and Friday events. Each swimmer's best race scores will count. In the event of a tie, the fifth score counts. All students are automatically tracked for points on Monday’s events; however at the Friday Carnival you must swim in the age champion heats to be tracked (first 1-3 heats of each stroke).
House Trophies
We have two trophies to compete for as a house for Swimming.
- The Interhouse Shield is a tightly fought battle of points based on results (placings) over the two swimming carnival days. The higher you place in your heats, the better the points for your house.
- The Jennifer Letizia Participation and Commitment Cup is awarded to the house with the highest participation numbers over the two carnivals.
Both of these trophies will be awarded on assembly following the swimming carnival.
CaSSSA Swim Team
Well done to the swimmers who have been attending the lead-up trial and meets. We named the team this week by sending out each swimmer a boarding pass. We have one more meet this Friday and then a few weeks to sharpen our relay teams in preparation for the inter-school meet on 11 March. Well done to those selected and we will be naming this team on Assembly shortly to present their team caps and shirts.
Congratulations
Airlie Davis has been busy racking up PBs in the pool. She has now qualified for the 2021 Australian Age Swimming Championships which will be held from 5 to 7 April at the Gold Coast Swimming and Aquatic Centre. Way to go, Airlie!
