St John’s Community Association Update
The St John’s Community Association held a meeting last Wednesday, 10 March. It was lovely to see some new faces. A few things that were high on the agenda were:
- Twilight Sports - Thank you to the wonderful team who came together to co-ordinate a delicious sausage sizzle for us. We raised $650.00 on the evening - well done everyone.
- Easter Raffle – Hopefully all families have received their raffle tickets. Please check your child’s bag, if you haven’t received them please see Jenny in the office. Thank you to Anna Carnovale for co-ordinating this event.
-Special Food Day - Thursday 1 April
The Community Association are holding a Special Food Day selling hot cross buns on Thursday 1 April. Parents will need to join CDFpay to place an order and pay online. Students will receive their order at recess. Please follow the instructions below.
- Prep/Year 1/New Families Welcome Dinner will be held on Wednesday, 31 March 2020 at 6.00pm in the passive play area. We are looking forward to seeing you all there.
We are still looking for a Chairperson to chair the meetings and to be a point of contact for the community. If you feel you can assist with this role please contact Verona Gridley.
Our next meeting will be held on Wednesday, 21 April at 7.00pm. You may attend the meeting in person, which is held in the staff room or via Google Meets (in the comfort of your own home). At this meeting we will be discussing fundraising ideas. Please put your thinking caps on and bring your wonderful ideas with you. If you can’t attend the meeting please feel free to send your ideas to me via email at vtotino31@hotmail.com
The Community Association is all about supporting the school students and families through social events, fundraising and outreach. We would love to have more people join and share their ideas because at the end of the day we do all of these events and fundraisers for the students. Thanks for your ongoing support.
