There is a display in the library celebrating International day of Women and Girls in Science.  The day was February 11th and we have had some interesting discussions about a very important woman (Dr Abigail Allwood) who is involved with the NASA Persistence Mars Mission.

There are many other women and girls involved in science within Australia and around the world – Greta Thunberg calling for climate change awareness, Marija Jovanovich – Wing Commander & Test Pilot – Royal Australian Air Force, Associate Profession Madhu Bhaskaran – Engineer – RMIT University, Professor Sharon Lewin – Director of Peter Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity to name just four.

Book club orders have now closed and I am expecting to have the books distributed in about 2–3 weeks. Thank you for ordering and I look forward to getting the books to students as soon as they arrive at school. We will do another book club order at the beginning of Term 2.  This order will be an on-line order only using the Scholastic Book Club online LOOP orders.
