Physical Education 2021

Welcome to P.E. at Greenvale Primary School for 2021, I am Andreas Jordanidis and I am excited to see the sporting skills of every student at Greenvale Primary School.

During Term 1, students in the Foundation - Year 2 area of the school will have a focus on locomotive skills such as running, hopping and skipping. As well as a focus on some fundamental motor skills (throwing, catching and bouncing).

In the Year 3-6 area of the school, students will be looking at the different events and activities involved with athletics and cross country. Students will be also looking at the different skills involved with Teeball, and learning to use a glove while playing the game.

Term 1 Events

Year 6 Interschool Sport Gala Day

This year, interschool sport has been condensed to a single day. Meaning students are guaranteed 5 games of the sport they have been chosen to play. The summer sports are Cricket, Teeball, Basketball and Volleyball.

The Gala day will be on the 12th March, competing at different venues against multiple schools. In preparation, students are training each week with their coaches for the event.

Year 4-6 Cross Country

On the 5th March all year 4-6 students and some select year 3 students will compete in the Greenvale Primary School cross country event. This will be held across the morning and I look forward to seeing students compete to get selected for the Greenvale Cross Country team!

Year 5 Swimming

From the 15th - 18th March and also 22nd - 25th March. Year 5 students will have the opportunity to participate in a swimming program at SPLASH Aqua Park and Leisure Centre in Cragieburn. The swimming lessons are designed to emphasise a wide range of aquatic skills including water safety, survival techniques and basic development skills. This is a free program for students.
