Marvellous Muddy Monday!

On Monday the 8th February Year 1 students and teachers participated in their first oral language experience as part of our ‘Little Learners Love Literacy’ Program. Students used their 5 Senses to explore and discover mud in our school ‘mud pit’ that was created for the day. Below are some samples of our students writing that they shared after their experiences. 

 

I saw a little frog jumping in the water. He was jumping in the water a lot. He was playing in the mud - Noah (1LH).

 

I hear a person walking in the mud and squelching in the mud and stomping - Scarlett (1LH).

 

I hear a person walking in mud. It sounds like splashing and squelching. The mud sounds crunchy. It sounds like hard mud. I think the mud is slimy! I think the mud sounds funny - Jayda (1LH).

 

Mud- I can feel blobby, dirty and squishy mud. The mud was yucky as poo. I can see brown, thick and chocolatey runny mud. I can hear voices, squelching and playing in the mud - Shaheer (1PL).

 

Mud- I can feel dirty and gooey mud. I can feel brown and yucky mud. I can see brown mud. I can hear bloopy mud. I can hear slurpy mud. I can hear squishy mud – Nashmia (1PL).

 

Mud- I can feel bloopy, gooey and blobby mud. I can see yucky, thick and gritty mud. The mud was brown as poo. I can hear talking mud - Caelan (1PL).

 

Mud- I can feel gooey, muddy and bloopy mud. I can see gooey, chocolatey and thick mud. The mud was cold like air - Mohamad (1PL).

 

The weird mud feels like slime when I touch it – Alessandro (1AS)
