A Message from David...

Colour Explosion!

There is a lot of excitement around the school for the upcoming Colour Explosion. This event is a highlight for many of our students (and staff!) and a great fundraiser for our school. A huge thank you to everyone that has donated and spread the word so far and a special mention to Victoria, Haley, Trent and Jo - these four have spent a tremendous amount of time working in the background to get everything set up for this event - THANKS!

Here are some photos from the 2019 Colour Explosion to get everyone excited:

Family Night

We are really excited to be holding our family evening again this year on Tuesday the 16th March. The family evening is a great way to welcome new families to our school and to build connections across our community. We are using the opportunity to promote our STEM program that began last year. There will be a range of hands-on STEM activities for families to engage with and we encourage all families to bring a picnic or buy a sausage and enjoy the evening together. We hope many of you can make it.

Planning Week

Last week, each of our Professional Learning Teams (PLTs) were released from the classroom for a day to partake in their Planning Day.

Planning Days are dedicated to the work of our teams and their focus on student learning. PLTs engage in student data analysis to inform their planning for the term ahead. Teachers work collaboratively to plan engaging, targeted learning experiences for their students. They may also undertake professional learning together, based on their shared goals for their teaching practice and student learning.

Parent Information Sessions

Amy recently hosted two highly successful parent information sessions for our prep parents. Both sessions were really well attended and the feedback from the parents that attended was very positive. The session focussed on supporting children with early reading development and provided a range of supportive strategies that parents could use with their child at home. Thank you to all that attended and to Amy for hosting.

We also have our 2022 prep information session coming up on the 22nd of March. If you know anyone that has a child that will begin prep in 2022 please ask them to register their interest in attending through our office. Details of the event can be found on our website or via our Facebook page.

Working Bee

A reminder that we are having a working bee on Saturday, 13th March. The main focus will be on work around the garden and a list of jobs will be posted on Compass next week. We appreciate any help!

Dogs on School Grounds

A reminder that dogs are not permitted on the school grounds as per our policy. We thank you for your support with this.

School Council Ballot

Please remember to get your school council ballot papers in by 4:00 pm on Tuesday. We will count the votes and announce the successful nominees later in the week.

Thanks for a great fortnight. I hope you all enjoy this timely long weekend.

Take care,

David
