2021 Student Leaders

I was very proud to present our 2021 Year 6 Student Leaders with their badges on Wednesday afternoon. Student leadership roles are an important part of the program at Clyde Primary School as they provide opportunities for students to have a voice and agency in what happens throughout the school as well as enabling students to develop their own leadership capacity. Please see the photos of our Student Leaders in this newsletter edition.

House Athletics

This morning our Year 3-6 students participated in our House Athletics. Events included shotput, long jump, high jump and track events. Our student Sport Leaders are preparing a report and photos to share with our community next week.

I would like to acknowledge the commitment, dedication and enthusiasm that Kerri Lightowler and Nicola Power have demonstrated throughout their time on School Council, THANKYOU! We also thank Mrs Harris who has been a staff representative on School Council for the past 2 years, and welcome Miss Steen who has accepted this position for 2021.

Take a Stand Against Bullying Day

On Friday 19th March, our school will participate in the National ‘Take a Stand Against Bullying Day'. During this day, students will learn about what bullying is and is not, how to seek help and who to seek help from and how to support other students if they observe bullying occurring to others. All students will participate in a number of activities throughout the day with their class. Please refer to the Wellbeing Section of the newsletter for more information.

Harmony Day

On Sunday 21st March, Harmony Day is observed in Australia. Harmony Day is intended to show cohesion and inclusion in Australia and promote a tolerate and culturally diverse society. Clyde Primary School will celebrate Harmony Day on Monday 22nd March. On this day students are asked to wear a ‘splash’ of orange and will move around classrooms in their year level, participating in a range of activities from different cultures. During this week, students will also have the opportunity to participate in a ‘Dance Around the World’ incursion where they will learn an Indian dance.
