CSEN Champions Carnival

This year CSEN introduced a new event called the Champions Carnival, designed to allow the best athletes to progress past the Eastern regional stage of Christian schools competitions.  41 of our best athletes qualified to go on the day, already an outstanding achievement, competing in a range of throwing, jumping and running events.

A special congratulations goes to Nick Arefta (Yr12), Carla Dreyer (Yr9), Ella Cassidy (Yr9), Chavella Tanubrata (Yr7) and Andrea Chai (Yr7) for breaking a CSEN record on the day - 2 individual records and one relay.

Overall our athletes managed 24 gold, 17 silver and 9 bronze medals - an awesome result!​

Knox Divisional Tennis Championships

On Monday 23rd October our Year 5/6 Girls Tennis Team represented St Andrews at the Knox Divisional Championships at Mountain Gate Tennis Club.

The girls won their first 3 rounds and made it to the final against last year’s State Champions. Unfortunately, they were too strong for us on the day, but our girls put in a fantastic effort to finish 2nd overall.

Well done to Matilda Russell, Ruby Muggeridge, Laura Hooi, Elizabeth Li, Emma Courtis, Sarah Zhu, Irena Tan and Allison Lam. 

Netball

The St Andrews Netball Club has been having a great spring season. We have seen several of our teams move up to compete in higher sections this season. This is a great sign of how healthy our netball club is and of the continued development of the girl’s skills. This season has also given birth to a new Under 13’s team called the ‘Vixons’. It is so exciting to see how our club is growing and the excitement that is building as we continue to expand.

We have just completed round 11 of a 13 round season. The girls have been training hard and implementing what they are learning into their Saturday games. As we come to the end of the season and prepare for finals all of our teams are doing fantastic. Here is a breakdown of our current ladder positions:

Under 11 Section 3 Mockingbirds:      5th

Under 13 Section 3 Swifts:                      1st

Under 13 Section 6 Vixons:                     2nd

Under 15 Section 3 Stars:                        2nd

Under 15 Section 5 Diamonds:             1st

As a club we are also looking forward to our end of year Netball Club Presentation Night which will be held on Monday 11th December. This a great opportunity for the girls to gather with their families and celebrate the club, team and individual achievements for the year. Invitations will be coming soon with more details.

We are now starting to prepare for the 2018 Winter Competition which will start on February 10th 2018. This week all girls from Year 3 to Year 11 will have received an expression of interest form. If your daughter is interested in joining the St Andrews Netball Club please return that form by Monday 6th November.
