SRC Update

Recently our College’s Student Representative Council applied for a Momentum Energy and Junior Landcare Powerful Youth Projects Grant through Landcare Australia. We are delighted to share that CSC has been selected to receive one of 200 grants available to schools, childcare centres and youth groups across Victoria. The $660 will go towards getting our top court gardens further underway, and planting and encouraging more native trees and plant life through our school grounds.

Our project, though currently under development, is going to be a working bee towards the second half of this year, in which our College’s SRC will be connecting our school and community. We will be planting vegies and native trees through the school grounds, creating a positive connection between the students and our outdoor areas, inspiring a stronger sense of ownership and pride within the school community. Throughout the day, our school community, students, teachers and parents, have the opportunity to spend some time at the school planting, weeding, mulching and anything in between. This will be coordinated by students, for students, and will be a wonderful way to engage and inspire the entire school community to come together as one, in the outdoors.

This project is made possible thanks to  Landcare Australia and Momentum Energy. They have given us the fantastic opportunity to make our school environment an even greater place to learn and thrive within.

We also acknowledge and thank Junior Landcare Australia and the Powerful Youth Projects team have also played a part in our school receiving this wonderful grant.

LIBRARY NEWS

Study skills and exam preparation

The exam period can be a stressful time, particularly for our year 10 students who are undertaking formal exams for the first time. At school our students have the chance to learn skills and strategies to help them perform at their best, whether it is completing assignments/ DLAs, or preparing for SACs and exams.

Homework Club runs each Thursday afternoon from 3.15pm to 4.30pm in the Library, and tutors Louise and Graeme are happy to work with students on study skills and exam preparation.

Library staff have also created on the Library website a study and exam page full of great tips and ideas.
