Staffing Appointments
With more students enrolled this year, the need for additional classes and programs, and staff turnover, a number of new part-time and full-time staff have been appointed to Kilvington. In alphabetical order our new staff are:
Ms Melissa Bibby has been appointed to the role of Health/Sport/
Humanities teacher. Melissa joins us from Melton Secondary College and holds a Bachelor of Applied Science, Diploma of Education: Secondary and Diploma of Experiential Learning and Development.
Ms Nicole Bull has been appointed to the role of Academic Dean of Performing Arts. Nicole joins us from Lauriston Girls’ School and holds a Bachelor of Education, a Kodaly Teacher Training Certificate and is currently completing a Master of Education (Educational Leadership and Administration).
Mr Todd Cummins has been appointed to the position of Junior School teacher. Todd joins us from Cheltenham Primary School and holds a Master of Teaching, a Bachelor of Business and a Certificate IV Training and Assessment.
Miss Belinda Cupples has been appointed to the position of Junior School teacher. Belinda holds a Bachelor of Early Childhood Studies, a Graduate Diploma of Education and a Master of Education. Belinda joins us from Carnegie Primary School.
Ms Shauna Donnelly has been appointed as a Junior School teacher. Shauna holds a Diploma of Education (Primary), a Bachelor of Exercise Science (Honours) and a Bachelor of Health Science. Shauna joins us from Port Melbourne Primary School.
Mr Andrew Hester has been appointed to the role of Dean of Operations and will teach Maths and Physics. Andrew holds a Graduate Diploma of Education (Secondary), a Bachelor of Computer Systems Engineering, a Master of Multimedia and joins us from Camberwell Girls Grammar School.
After impressing us from midway through last year, Mr Joe Hewitt has been appointed to the role of Junior School teacher. Joe comes from the UK and holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Education Primary and a Bachelor of Theology and Religious Studies.
Mr Elliot Jennings has been appointed as an ELC co-educator. He is currently studying a Bachelor of Social Sciences (Psychology) at Swinburne University and holds a Certificate III in Children Services.
Ms Claudia Lewicki has been appointed to the role of Executive Assistant to the Principal and Human Resources Coordinator. Claudia holds over 20 years’ experience as an executive assistant and comes from a corporate background, most recently with Tabcorp.
Ms Louise Macfarlane has been appointed to the role of VCE Chemistry teacher. Louise joins us from Box Hill Senior Secondary College where she held the role of Head of Science. Louise holds a Diploma of Education and a Bachelor of Science.
Dr Barry Mangham has been appointed to the role of Chemistry and Science teacher. Barry holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Education in Secondary Science, a MSci (Honours) Chemistry and a PhD Chemistry. Barry joins us from the U.K.
Mrs Davina McClure is our new Deputy Principal. Davina comes from The Hamilton and Alexandra College where she was the Deputy Principal Teaching, Learning and Curriculum. She has held a number of leadership and teaching roles including Director of Teaching and Learning, Director of Performing Arts and Music teacher at independent schools such as Korowa and Caulfield Grammar. Davina holds a Masters of Education (Educational Management), a Bachelor of Music Education and has completed a Certificate in Positive Education.
Mrs Lyn Pewtress has been appointed to the position of Early Learning Centre (ELC) Coordinator. Lyn holds a Master of Education (Work and Learning Studies), a Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood Education), a Diploma of Teaching (Primary), a Graduate Diploma of Special Education and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. Lyn joins us from St Catherine’s.
Mrs Sarah Russell has been appointed to the role of ELC co-educator. She is currently studying a Masters of Teaching in Early Years Education at Monash University and holds a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care, a Graduate Diploma in Editing and Publishing, a Bachelor of Law (Hons) and a Bachelor of Arts, English Literature, French.
Miss Sarah Sutherland-Tomey has been appointed to the role of Junior School teacher. Sarah holds a Bachelor of Social Science, a Bachelor of Education (Primary) and is currently completing a Master of Literacy. Sarah joins us from Xavier College.
Miss Lauren Wade has been appointed to the position of English teacher. Lauren joins us from Sacred Heart Girls College and holds a Bachelor of Education and a Bachelor of Arts.
Mr Mark Williams has been appointed to the role of Mathematics teacher. Mark joins us from Scotch College and holds a Bachelor of Science and a Graduate Diploma of Education.
Other Staff News
Ms Clare Allen married during the holidays, and will now be known as Mrs Clare Stokes.
Ms Clare Mackie became engaged as did Ms Megan Thomas.
Ms Esther Breckler and Edward are now parents, Esther having given birth to Marisa Rose Linivker.
We welcome back Ms Laura Tough and Ms Lizzie Bush who both return from maternity leave on a part-time basis.
I congratulate Mrs Kathleen Vergers on her appointment to the role of Assistant Chaplain.
With sadness I inform you that Dean Barnes contacted me early in January requesting a year’s leave due to an ongoing health issue. He says there is nothing for us to worry about, just needs some time.
With sadness I also inform you that Mrs Monique Miotto is needing further treatment and consequently has decided to resign to concentrate on getting well, but hopefully will be able to do some project work for us later in the year. We wish both Dean and Monique speedy recoveries.
May 2017 be a productive and happy year for all.
