Financial Assistance for Families
CAMPS, SPORTS & EXCURSIONS FUND (CSEF)
School camps provide children with inspiring experiences in the great outdoors, excursions encourage a deeper understanding of how the world works and sports teach teamwork, discipline and leadership. All are part of a healthy curriculum. CSEF is provided by the Victorian Government to assist eligible families to cover the costs of school trips, camps and sporting activities.
If you hold a valid means –tested concession card or are a temporary foster parent, you may be eligible for CSEF. A special consideration category also exists for asylum seeker and refugee families.
The allowance is paid to the school to use towards expenses relating to camps, excursions or sporting activities for the benefit of your child.
The CSEF payment cannot be used towards voluntary school charges, books, stationery, school uniforms, before/after school care, music lessons, or formals/graduations.
The annual CSEF amount per student is:

LEADERSHIP PROGRAM - SECONDARY SCHOOL
The Centre for Multicultural Youth (CMY) is running a leadership program in March and thought Collingwood might have some young people who would be interested in participating. The Program is called the Young Initiators Program and is designed for all young people aged 12 – 24 (not just refugee and migrant youth). The program has been funded by the state government to promote the Victorian Value Statements and over 3 days will help young people explore their values, develop an understanding of diversity, build empathy and discover what it means to be an active citizen.
The outline of the 3 days is as follows:
Day 1:
Focus on inner self, values and leadership
Day 2:
Focus on others, diversity, culture, empathy and story telling
Day 3:
Focus on the outer system and how to be an active citizen in the community
CMY will be delivering the 3-day Leadership Training Workshops in Yarra/Carlton in March 22nd – 24th and would love it if we had young people we could refer to the program who would be interested in participating.
