Welcome one and all to another edition of the Senior School newsletter. I hope that everyone is doing well during lockdown 6.0 and I eagerly await to see everyone back onsite.
Here are some updates from the senior school for the beginning of term 3.
SSV Boys Footy NMR
On Wednesday the 14th of July, the Senior Boys Footy team went to the Northern Metropolitan finals. Although the boys did not earn a victory, the scoreboard definitely did not reflect player efforts. There was great sportsmanship shown by all teams and as the senior coach I am proud to say that the boys gave everything they had, right until the final siren. Thanks to the following intermediate boys; Jude Omar, Joredson Malaga, Cedrick Satele and Moey Taleb for filling in at the last minute!
Best on ground:
Adnan Sabbouh, Aisar Munir and Mohammed Hussein.

Year 11 Camp
In week 6 of term 4, year 11 students will be given the opportunity to attend the Summit Camp. The purpose of the camp is to work on their team building and resilience, as well as having an opportunity to reflect on the school year. Students will be involved in a number of exciting activities that the camp has to offer including the cave challenge, laser skirmish, flying fox, leap of faith, giant swing, group initiatives, monster course, forest walks and various team building games. The camp will also allow students allocated free time, which means that they are able to use various camp facilities, including a private recreation room.
Date: Wednesday the 10th of November - Friday the 12th of November 2021
Location: 21 Cemetery Road, Trafalgar East
Cost: $380 (CSEF funding can be used)
Please let Miss Lilla know if you are interested in attending - after a few years being in lockdown and not being able to travel, this is a perfect opportunity to have fun!
Year 12 Great Amazing Race
On Tuesday the 12th of October, year 12 students will be participating in an amazing race event around Melbourne CBD. This epic adventure will see each team locate checkpoints by following a map and solving cryptic clues. At each checkpoint they need to complete a challenge, all of which have been designed to encourage teamwork and highlight the importance of leadership, communication, delegation, time management and goal setting. More than just looking at plaques and writing down answers, our checkpoint challenges are interactive and hands-on and will have teams complete eating competitions, constructions tasks, creative photo bonuses, sealed envelope challenges, and public interaction tasks.
