Principal's Report

Dear Parents, Guardians, and friends of Nazareth

Welcome back to Semester 2. Unfortunately, as I write this correspondence, we find ourselves in Lockdown 5.0 and under many restrictions. As Chief Health Officer (Victoria) Dr Brett Sutton states, this is for the wellbeing of all Victorians.

On the point of wellbeing, may I ask that all families please seek assistance from school if, for any reason, there are any wellness issues while in lockdown? Ms Casey Cilia, the College Psychologist, together with the Wellbeing Team, are here to assist. Please contact them via Reception on 9795 8100 or alternatively by email casey.cilia@nazareth.vic.edu.au should you require.

Last Thursday, I was privileged to attend a viewing of the dress rehearsal for the Grease Production and experienced firsthand the joy expressed by all as they performed. Unfortunately, the cast, crew and production team will need to wait for another time to showcase their talents.

Similarly, the Annual Athletics Carnival will also be postponed to another time.

This week our Year 11 and 12 students, together with their families, have had their Virtual Progress Meetings. It was pleasing to hear the positivity from most families about their child and their reports. I congratulate our students that have excelled and those that have given their best efforts. To the students that know they have underachieved, you have the opportunity in Semester 2 to make a difference.

On behalf of the School Community, I thank the NCCA volunteers who, on Sunday 11 July, raised over $1000.00 for the school at the local Bunnings Sausage Sizzle. The NCCA is a committed group of parents that work towards making Nazareth a better place. If you want to assist in any future NCCA functions or simply get to know other Nazareth family volunteers, please register your interest by email reception@nazareth.vic.edu.au.

In concluding, I thank all families for their ongoing support and assistance. Our Nazareth Community is renowned as a family unit, one that cares for its neighbours and helps those less fortunate. As we continue in lockdown, please care for your loved ones and those that may be struggling.

Stay safe and God bless.

Mr Sam Cosentino

Principal
