Men of John XXIII

The Men of John XXIII are proud to invite you to an evening with former Olympians Stuart Reside and Deane Pieters to share their experiences, and how this has shaped their fathering journey.

 

Come and learn some insights on what it takes to become an Olympian, and how these lessons can help us become better ‘coaches’ to our children.

Guest Speakers

 

Stuart Reside was an Australian national champion, a two-time underage World Champion, a dual Olympian (Sydney 200 and Athens 2004) and a medallist at senior world championships and Olympics. Stuart is also a parent at the College to Olive, Hamish and Banjo.

 

 

Deane Pieters represented Australia in swimming from 1991-1993, competing at the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona. He is also a former world surf lifesaving champion (1990), and Australian surf lifesaving representative (1990, 1991 and 1996). Deane was a recipient of the Australian Sports Medal in 2000. In 2010, at the age of 41, he won the 19.7kms Rottnest Channel Swim. Deane is father to two children, Ben and Olivia.

 

 

Men of John XXIII initiative was established under the principles of The Fathering Project to enhance the fathering experience and to inspire and equip fathers and father-figures to positively engage with the children in their lives – for the benefit of kids.
