From the Principal

Steven Barclay

Hi everyone,

It has been an interesting start to term 3.

Online Learning:

I was incredibly impressed with how quickly the staff, students and families were able to adapt and implement online learning. It was great to be able to visit each class using Google Classroom and find the students happy and engaged in their learning.

A big thank you to the entire community in supporting each other and our students during the lockdown.

Whilst we continue to have restrictions in school, face masks and social distancing etc. the students have done a great job in following these restrictions. We understand how difficult it is to wear a mask for the majority of the day and the patience and compliance of our students has been excellent.

Some Staffing News:

As some of you may be aware, David Marino has resigned his appointment as Principal to take up a new role as Principal of Kapunda High School. We at PHS, wish him all the success in his new role.

The Principal role for PHS was advertised recently and closed yesterday. Once the panel process is complete, I will hopefully be able to share the news in our next newsletter.

A couple of our teachers have gained Permanency in the department.

Tarni Reeves and Brittany Dunchue are now permanent teachers at PHS.

We also welcome Anna Simon who many of you in the community may know as Anna Vesecky. She has won a temporary leadership position until the end of the year. Anna has also won a five year tenured position at PHS starting in 2022 as Senior School Coordinator replacing Sonja Mercer.

Thanks again for your continued support,

Steven Barclay, Principal.
