From the Principal

Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome back for Term 3. I know that our start was not the one that we were all hoping for, but please know that we are doing our best at school to keep your children positive. It must be very hard for those who are unable to get back to school. From conversations with students and staff, it seems that most of us enjoyed the holidays but are glad to be back.
The theme of keeping positive is a focus here at the College, with staff encouraging students to be mindful of gratitude and kindness. Both can play an important role in promoting good mental health and wellbeing. Our Wellbeing Committee, made up of staff, students, parents/carers, is looking into the current wellbeing practices here at the College via a wellbeing audit. We are researching best practice and considering the potential value of including Positive Education as a formal part of the curriculum from 2022.
Two great websites for information include the following:
Yesterday, as I walked up a set of outside stairs, I came across one of our early years students pondering a leaf that she had picked up from the concrete—a Japanese maple that had made its way over rooftops in the wind. She looked at me and said, 'This is for you'. What a precious child! Random, simple and kind gestures can, and do, have a profound effect.
