Firstly, I wish to congratulate Aberfoyle Park High School staff and students on the way they have adapted to a disruptive start to term 3. Staff working with Senior School students have been working tirelessly to ensure students have not been unduly impacted by working from home during the recent lockdown.
Some important information for parents/caregivers and students to be aware of:
The After School Learning Hub is open for business again on Senior Floor every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 3.30pm–4.30pm. It is recommended if students need extra support they attend these sessions. This is a voluntary staff initiative.
Information for Course Counselling Sessions for year 10 into 11 and 11 into year 12 in 2022 has been distributed to parents/caregivers. Students are working with their care group teachers during Wellbeing for Learning lessons to ensure they are well supported in making their choices for a SACE pathway.
VET students are reminded they need to maintain regular contact with their relevant lecturer to determine how their course will be running this term. They are also reminded to attend all lessons to ensure they are on track to complete the course on time. Any questions, concerns or support needed for VET is by contacting Kass Holmes – VET Leader (kass.holmes@aphs.sa.edu.au).
Year 12 students and parents: As we near the end of the year for students and parents the Senior School Team are here to support students planning their post school options. The various Adelaide based Universities will be offering one-on-one information sessions to be held later this term at school. The Australian Government has released information for parents and students regarding information on ‘What’s Next’ and a Parent/Guardian’s Guide to School Leavers.
