YEAR 8-9 SAPSASA SOCCER

Ross Dempster, Teacher

On Thursday 24 June the year 8-9’s played Reynella East College and Seaford Secondary College in a SAPSASA knockout game of soccer. The first game the boys played was against Reynella which was a nail biter. The boys were strong in defence and midfield, however struggled to finish with such a strong wind blowing. Thomas found the back of the net from a corner, giving us the early lead. Unfortunately, it was short-lived with Reynella scoring off the break from outside the box with the help of the wind. Then again later in the game from a questionable penalty from a handball, to finish the game 1-2.

The second game was against Seaford who won their first game, only needing a draw to progress through. The boys played a very attacking game. They could not get many shots off with Seaford's strong defence. The boys were unlucky not to score and the game ended in a 0-0 score line.
