Classroom & Curriculum News

Semester one Italian
Congratulations to all the students in years 3-6 for completing their semester one Italian classes. The students have been amazing!! The work has been outstanding and language classes during remote learning were great!!
The students have worked very hard as a class, in small groups to complete many language tasks in the Italian classroom. Year 5/6 Italian menus are now on display outside the office area. The students have come up with great logos and catchy names for their restaurant. They have a big range of Italian foods including drinks and desserts. Graphics, layout, colours are well thought through to match their theme. Year 3/4 students have participated in many food/restaurant setting activities, conversation work, interviewing classmates about likes and dislikes about foods. We also had a laugh with the restaurant role plays. Well done to all!!
We welcome the children in years Prep -2 next Semester;
terms 3&4 to the Italian classroom. See you all in term 3.
The whole school enjoyed watching ‘Luca’ on Wednesday morning!
The children and teachers had a laugh and the children caught on to the Italian words/phrases very quickly.
It was nice to share and have an event together before the end of term after lockdown.
Happy holidays
Keep safe and keep smiling

1/2's are BUSY BEEs
The past 2 weeks, grade 1/2 have been learning about location and giving directions. This week, the children learnt about giving directions to friends out in the playground. They became confident in using vocabulary such as "backwards, forwards, left, right and diagonal, up/down, over/threw".
The children put their direction skills into practice with the help of "Bee Bots". A fun way to move the bee across a map to reach a destination. The children had to write directions to give to a partner and pre-set directions using arrows to move the bee.
There were lots of laughs, triumphs and mistakes along the way (Bee falling off the map) but such a great learning experience and understanding the importance of being specific with directions.
Great work 1/2. You were BEErilliant.
