1/2 T

Well, the past fortnight has seen us back at school, then back to remote learning,

but luckily we were able to have a marvellous day last Monday -

with our first excursion for the year, to Cranbourne Botanic Gardens.

The weather was glorious and the whole class was in attendance

- we could not have asked for more!

We walked, we talked, we looked, we saw and we ate!

We participated in the Education Session called 'Shared Country' and got to make our very own Lemon Myrtle potpourri bags to take home, learnt about many of the traditional tools Aboriginals use and made ochre using traditional methods

to leave our handprints on a special wall within the garden.

We were also really lucky to be the only group to see a bandicoot

when we stopped for our snack - maybe he was after some too!

Literacy

After our excursion, we learnt about similes as a way to make our writing more exciting. This week we have been practising using similes in different ways as well as experimenting with onomatopoeia to further enhance our writing.

We also had some open ended tasks to complete last Friday involving describing our favourite parts of our chosen books.

Maths

This week have been looking at some of the ways patterns can be made -

from colour, shapes and even objects around us.
