1/2M

Thank you students and families for your ongoing support and commitment during another period of remote learning. Each morning I look forward to our morning meetings and seeing the students online. I would like to commend all the students for demonstrating resilience and enthusiasm towards their learning during this challenging time.

Literacy

This week in Literacy, the students have been investigating how figures of speech such as similes and onomatopoeia can make writing more creative and vibrant.

Maths

Last week in Maths the students engaged time telling activities that consolidated their knowledge of o'clock and half past time. These activities also gave students the opportunity to work with other students and to share their knowledge and understanding with each other. The class was alive with rich discussion and collaboration between the students and teachers.

During remote learning the students have been describing, naming and creating repeating patterns using a variety of objects.

Inquiry

Our excursion to the Cranbourne Botanical Gardens was a great success. Throughout the day, the students engaged in many activities such as a walk through the gardens, a scavenger hunt and an indigenous education lesson with Steve. Steve is very knowledgeable about Country and he shared many interesting facts about the local flora and fauna and their importance to Aboriginal people.  Many of the activities such as feeling the possum skin ball and making lemon myrtle tea bags, encouraged the students to use all their senses to connect with the experience.
