Prep

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw nearly the entire class at our google meet last Friday. From a late announcement on Thursday evening to seeing them on my screen the following morning it truly was amazing. The Preps and their families have shown incredible resilience and flexibility during what is their fourth lockdown this year. I imagine this is not how families imagined their child's first year of school but despite these challenges the Preps have grown in so many ways!

Can you believe in our 7 days back at school we managed to squeeze in an Excursion?!

Our trip to the Cranbourne Botanical Gardens was certainly one of the highlights of the year. It was so fantastic to see the Preps, 1's, 2's share the experience

Excursion

Our trip to the Cranbourne Botanical Gardens was certainly one of the highlights of the year. The Preps explored the gardens and learnt about Indigenous flora and fauna as well as how the Aboriginal People used and cared for the land. They listened attentively and were excited to come back to school share their knowledge and learn more.

Literacy

The Preps have continued to explore sounds and digraphs. Their letter-sound knowledge is honestly incredible and they are amazing at using their decoding skills to read lots and lots of words! This week they were visited by a pesky witch that turned Miss Bridget into a glue stick!

Maths

This week we have started a new unit on subtraction. The Preps have done a fantastic job of learning remotely and grasping a new mathematical concept. We have explored subtraction in lots of different ways including number stories, number lines and equations.

Love Miss Bridget
