FIRE Carrier Commissioning Ceremony

Last Thursday, we joined the Bunurong cluster of schools for our Commissioning Ceremony to induct our new FIRE carrier students; Molly, Micah, Austin, Tomo, Leo, Lucy and Miss Tamara. Joining us for this celebration were our already commissioned students Gabriella and Abby who have been a fabulous support to our new students.

We were fortunate to be joined by Sherry Balcombe from the Catholic Aboriginal Ministry and Shane Clark from the Bunurong Land Council.

Unfortunately due to Covid restrictions, our plans to gather together at St Anne's was cancelled. However, the staff and students from all 7 schools very quickly adapted to a Zoom meeting which was delivered in a beautiful and respectful way.

I enjoyed the ceremony because it was welcoming, enjoyable and it made me feel special to become part of the group. Students from all the schools read the readings, Lucy read on behalf of St FX. Shane's speech was very welcoming and I enjoyed listening to him. Molly B.
