Instrumental Music

Term 1 Signed, Sealed, Delivered!

Thanks to all the students, families and teachers who have supported Instrumental Music as we set the tone for 2023. A massive thank you and farewell to Jo our Principal who has been a wonderful advocate for Music and Performing Arts here at ECSC. 

End of Term Concert

At the end of each Term this year the Music Department will hosts an Instrumental Music Concert in the theatre during lunch time. Just this past Tuesday 4th April we held our Term 1 Concert, which was a big success! In this folder you will find photos and video recordings. We hope to invite families to the College later int the year for music concert to celebrate the wonderful work of our students.

 

Practice Push

We have had a big focus on practice this term, with most teachers reporting the required practice takes place between lessons. ECSC is proud to offer low fees and easy access to lessons and so the expectation is that students practice regularly between lessons.  Evidence of continued practice is a condition of enrolment in the program. The holidays are a great time to catch up on practice and put in place positive habits moving forward. 

 

Here are some other practice tips: 

  • Google Classroom is the students one stop shop for practicing resources - exercises, songs, videos, extra practice tips, links to shops and equipment, all updated weekly by our dedicated instrumental music teaching team. 
  • 10-15 minutes most days of the week will see students improve. Here are some tips for setting up students for success in their practice routines. 
  • Still looking for an instrument (new or second hand) but not sure where to start? Drop Cameron Stark an email via Compass. 

Fees and new enrolments: 

  • Semester 1 lessons fees are now payable via Compass. Please attend to these ASAP. Contact the office if you cannot see where to pay or if you have any questions. 
  • Semester 1 enrolments are now closed and we will begin enrolling for Semester 2 in late Term 2. You are welcome to still fill in an expression of interest via the school website.
