The opening days for students to come and enjoy some quiet time are:

K/1/5/6 First break (Recess) Monday and Thursday

2/3/4 Second Break (Lunch) Wednesday and Friday

CLASS BORROWING DAYS ARE:

Kindergarten Wednesday

Year 1 Friday

Year 2 Monday

Year 3 Friday

Year 4 Tuesday

Year 5 Friday

Year 6 Friday

Parents please make sure the students in K - 6 have a Library Bag on their borrowing days to take books home.

AUTHOR VISIT

Early Term 2 we will have a visit from author & illustrator Dr Cameron Stelzer. We are currently reading several of his books in our library lessons. They are very entertaining.

ANZAC DAY COMPETITION

The Yr 6 students have been busily completing their entries for the competition. Several have made use of their break times to complete their work. These will be posted next week.

BOOK CLUB

Book Club 2 orders are being delivered. These will be sent home as they arrive. Thank you again for your support.

PREMIER'S READING CHALLENGE

Please keep reading! New students who have spoken to me have been registered and given their login details. If your child has participated before they can simply us their old login. If a login is lost let me know and I can reset it for you. The link to the website is included HERE. Remember to login and register the books you have read, or to check which books are on the list to read.

Many of the Premiers Reading Challenge books are on SORA. If you look in collections you will see collections devoted to each section of the challenge. Don't worry if you think you don't have enough books to read on holidays. Go to SORA!!

Friday 18 August 2023 is the challenge closing date for student entries.

Getting started with Sora

With Sora, you can get free ebooks and audiobooks from your school.

Step 1 ______________________________________________________

Install the Sora app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, or go to soraapp.com.

Step 2______________________________________________________

In Sora, click on I have a setup code, then sign in.

Note: If you need your sign-in information (like an ID, username, or password), it is the same one you use to log into your chromebook.

Sign into your School – Select your school - ACEN

Step 3______________________________________________________

Browse the

tab and borrow a book. Your book will open so you can start reading right away.

Step 4______________________________________________________

Close the book and go to

see all your books (including assignments). From there, you can:

Select Open book or Open audiobook to read or listen to the book.
Select Options to renew or return the book, see your notes and highlights, and more.

Premiers Reading Challenge Books can be found in Collections in folders marked NSW Premiers Reading Challenge K-2, NSW Premiers Reading Challenge 3-4, NSW Premiers Reading Challenge 5-6.
