Autism Awareness Month

April is Autism Awareness Month which is about raising awareness, acceptance and inclusion surrounding autism. More than 205,000 Australians are autistic and 1 in 4 Australians have a family member on the autism spectrum.  We would like to take the time to recognise the consistently intentional practices that our educators are well known for at WGS, and to acknowledge the work that everyone does to maximise and ensure inclusion for all students. 

This month our Autism Inclusion Teachers, Laura and Terrence have been supporting leadership to audit the strategies used across the site and additional professional learning for new staff to ensure ongoing consistency for students and families.
