From the Principal

Dear families,

As the first term draws to a close we thank you for your ongoing support and reflect, as I am sure you do, on how much our students have grown in their learning so far this year. As partners in the learning journey we ask that you support us to increase attendance as much as possible, to maximise student access to learning. Some families are catching up with family on extended holidays during term time and this is making is really hard for students to catch up when they return. Many of the absences are due to illness and some anxiety around Covid. We have had a slight increase in Covid cases and as a proactive measure we would like to remind families that while we supported parents to help transition their Reception students into the classroom during the first term it is not necessary to take students into their classroom from Term 2 as they develop their independence. Students in other year levels are already developing their independence and we ask that you support all our learners to settle by not entering the buildings before and after school. In this way we can minimise the spread of Covid and allow our teachers to maintain the focus on getting on with the teaching and learning at 8.50am at the start of the school day. The Front Office staff are able to take messages to pass on or you could pop in and see Chris Stepien or Jodie Lewis (Early Years) or Scott Foale and Liz Mitkas (Primary Years and Special classes) if you need to speak to someone face to face in the morning. Myself and other leadership staff are also out in the yard most days before and after school and are happy to chat to you then.

If I don't see you before Friday I hope that you all have a safe and happy end of term break. We look forward to welcoming you all back on Monday 1st May.

Sue
