Senior P&F Teachers’ Dinner 

On Monday 24 April, the Senior P&F hosted dinner for 40 SVC staff as part of the parent/student/teacher meetings at the Austins Ferry campus.

Staff were treated a to a buffet style dinner that included homemade red vegetable curry and rice, beef lasagne and salad, quiches, apple crumble and chocolate brownies.

The Senior P&F Teachers’ Dinners are held twice a year and have become a proud tradition for committee members and volunteers. The dinner provides an opportunity for teaching staff to take a short break, sit down together and enjoy a home cooked meal.

It is also a fantastic forum for new parents, carers and friends to connect with the College, engage with staff and meet other P&F members and volunteers.

THANK YOU to SVC Food Tech and Maintenance staff for your continued support of this event, and a special thank you to newly appointed Catering Coordinator Louise Wright and committee members Michelle Brown and Adrian Leary for your time and presence. 

College Mary Rice Day Lunch - Volunteers

Friday 30 June

As part of the annual College Mary Rice Day at the Austins Ferry campus, over 900 students and staff will be treated to a portion of a traditional African ‘Maharagwe Mchele Mkate’ (bean rice bread) dish. 

The dish is prepared in the Food Tech kitchen by a team of College staff, P&F members and volunteers, and served at lunch time across two stations.

The P&F are seeking volunteers from the Junior and Senior School communities to assist with food preparation, cooking, set up, serving and pack up. 

Volunteers require a current Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) card.

If you are available to assist for any period of time between 9.00 am and 1.30 pm on Friday 30 June, please email to seniorpf@stvirgils.tas.edu.au.
