In yesterday's Middle Years Assembly our Junior House Representatives were formally commissioned. This is an exciting opportunity for Year 7 and 8 students to lead in collaboration with and learn from their Senior House Leaders while further developing their leadership skills. One of their first responsibilities has been encouraging House spirit with points on offer during today's Edmund Rice Day activities, as they will also do at next week’s Cross Country where participation will be key.
Congratulations to the following students (pictured above).

As part of last week’s Student Wellbeing Program we introduced our Big Brother Mentorship Program where Year 11 students will mentor a Middle Years Pastoral Care Group within their House. This important responsibility of being a Big Brother Mentor allows our senior students to support Middle Years students navigate their school day by providing support and advice and sharing knowledge and experiences. It also creates a partnership between our Middle and Senior Pastoral Care Groups. Last week’s focus was on supporting Year 7 students navigate the online learning world of SIMON, Google Drive and showing boys how to save and submit work correctly - a big challenge for Year 7 students as they get used to this process. This created a space for Year 7 students to share any struggles they’ve encountered in their transition to High School and receive support and advice to overcome the many challenges that arise.
