Emerging Minds 

Please find a resource option in relation to childhood bullying below, from Emerging Minds - Emerging Minds - Advancing Australian children's mental health

 

“Building on the foundation course, Understanding childhood bullying and mental health, this new practice course focuses on skills and strategies that will help you to support the mental health of children aged 4 to 12 years who have been experiencing or engaging in bullying behaviour”.

 

The course is online and four hours and is made up of two modules:

1. Mental health of children who are experiencing bullying behaviour

2. Supporting the mental health of children who are engaged in bullying behaviour.

 

There is also a link to skills to support children’s mental health around bullying involvement with a short description of each of the skills and additional online courses on supporting children who are experiencing repeated bullying behaviour.

If you have a particular interest in this area, eSafety also offers online professional learning for educators, covering topics such as responding to and reporting of critical online incidents in school settings; digital rights and responsibilities of students and educators; online harmful sexual behaviours, misinformation and emerging technologies; online safety for school leaders; online risk and protective factors; and online modules specifically for lower primary teachers.  

Mental Health Training

Just a reminder about upcoming training options in relation to suicide prevention, mental health first aid and early intervention - that may be of interest to you and for your distribution as appropriate:

  • LivingWorks have a suite of suicide prevention training programs including State-wide Suicide Intervention Skills Training for all  NSW high school staff, parents, carers and school communities (public, private and independent). Free NESA-accredited LivingWorks training for all NSW high schools. Online & in-person workshops & evidence-based training in suicide intervention skills. Suitable for teachers and school staff.   • Highway To Well have upcoming Mental Health First Aid training and is coming up in Tamworth 23 & 24 March 2023 Mental Health First Aid Training in Tamworth - Highway To Well and online Youth Mental Health First Aid Training 5 & 9 June 2023 (fees apply) workshops
  • Project Air Early Intervention in Schools and Health Teams. Adolescent Intervention for Clinicians working with Young People with Complex Mental Health Issues – Project Air Strategy.
