GRADE 6 iTime EXPO

What an amazing afternoon we had today during our Expo where Grade 6 students were able to share the projects they have been working on this term. The Learning Centre was packed with parents, teachers and students, which led to a wonderful atmosphere of sharing and learning. We were impressed with the students' ability to share their knowledge and creations with everyone who visited their display. Well done! Thank you to all the parents who were able to join us - we hope you learnt something!

STUDENT LEADERS GRIP CONFERENCE

On March 28th all the captains went to the Melbourne Convention Centre for the GRIP conference. At the conference we did some activities relating to leadership. The hosts were great and we had a lot of fun sharing ideas and playing some games. Some things we learnt were: putting ourselves forward, listening to ideas, staying enthusiastic in our role. Overall it was a lot of fun and I would like to thank the teachers for making it possible for us to attend.

We had a blast at the GRIP conference. We worked on activities and got to see kids from hundreds of other schools. Away from work, our school participated in games such as the "Loud Noise" challenge where we got to cheer and yell. The conference was a really valuable experience and I got lots of important tips out of it.

GRIP was an educational meeting where we learned how to improve as leaders and use our abilities to help others. The GRIP Student Leadership Conference is unique in that it focuses on preparing student leaders to serve the school. The conference is preferable for all upper primary students, particularly those in their final year of elementary school. This conference addresses the fact that all upper primary students play an important leadership role in the school. It was an excellent conference that not only engaged leaders but also struck a good balance between practical leadership strategies and enjoyable activities. Students were involved at all levels, and the experience was positive and dynamic. My thoughts about GRIP conference were, "GRIP was a fun and educational way for us to strive for and grow in our abilities as leaders. It taught us the fundamentals of leadership and what we should do to help not only ourselves but others." In the end it was a fun time for us captains and we have learnt a lot.

GRADE 5 CAMP

Thanks to everyone who has completed payments and permissions through the Qkr App. As you can appreciate, there is a lot of organisation required for a camp like this and it is a great help when forms are returned promptly. At this stage, the main thing that families can be doing, is keeping an eye out for brown or black leather shoes/boots and also for long white socks or tights (for girls) and long black or grey socks (for boys). If you are at all unsure if the items you have are suitable, bring them into school next term and we can have a look.
