Senior School News

Early Commencement Program

The compulsory early commencement program for all 2020 Years 11 and 12 students commenced on Monday 2 December and concluded on Friday 6 December.  Senior School teachers ran classes for the week. The program gives students the opportunity to get a head start with their studies and enables them to complete preparatory work over the school holidays.

Presentation Night

Wednesday 18 December

I look forward to seeing parents and students at the Presentation Night which will be held at 7.30pm Wednesday 18 December at the Frankston Arts Centre.  This night acknowledges and celebrates the achievements of our students from Years 7 to 12.

Thank You and Best Wishes for the Festive Season

As 2019 draws to a close, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all Senior School teachers for their passion, dedication, enthusiasm and sheer hard work in providing each student with every opportunity to achieve their goals.  They are always giving of their time and assistance and I thank them for their outstanding commitment and the excellent teaching and learning they have provided for the students.  It is a privilege to work with such dedicated and conscientious teachers.

My sincere appreciation and thanks must go to Mr John Albiston.  Frankston High School is an outstanding school, a school where there is a culture of academic excellence, where every student is given every opportunity to maximise their learning outcomes.  There is a dynamic learning environment with shared goals, a sense of responsibility for making a difference and a culture of continuous improvement.  This would not be possible without John’s support, encouragement and leadership, and I sincerely thank him for his outstanding commitment to Frankston High School.

I would also like to thank the Senior School Leadership Team for their assistance and the invaluable work they do in supporting our students – Mr Simon Cameron (Year 12 Coordinator),

Mrs Ellen D’Ambra (Year 11 Coordinator),

Mrs Sharon Bourne (Careers Coordinator),

Ms Elise Roper (Assistant Year 12 Coordinator),

Mr Paul Don (Assistant Year 11 Coordinator),

Mrs Sharon Koning (International Student Coordinator) and

Ms Kirsten Bakker (Student Wellbeing Coordinator).

The drive and leadership of these people is what makes the Senior Campus the school that it is and I thank them most sincerely for their tireless energy in ensuring all students achieve their best.

In addition, I would like to thank and acknowledge the work of our educational support staff – Ms Mindy Fischer (Senior School Office Manager) and Mrs Carolyn McIver (Senior Coordination Administrative Assistant and VET Coordinator).

Finally I would like to thank the parents and the wider Frankston High School Community for your support throughout the year.  I wish everyone a safe and happy Christmas and festive season, and I look forward to working with you again in 2020.

Ms Helen Wilson

Senior Campus Principal
