Term 2 Week 10
It has been fantastic to see so many students borrowing an array of books this term and demonstrating a passion for reading. Every day through conversations with students I hear great feedback on the stories they have read and I learn all about their interests in themes and genres.
I'd like to extend a big thank you to the Year 7 Library Monitors for Term 2 who have done a great job at maintaining our wonderful library during their lunch times. Your hard work is much appreciated!
I hope everyone has a wonderful break these school holidays and keeps up with their excellent reading! I look forward to seeing you all next term.
PREMIER'S READING CHALLENGE UPDATE
Students will still need to read 12 books by September, however they can be ANY FREE CHOICE books from their age range. Please submit completed sheets to your teacher or the library.
A huge well done to those students who have already handed in their Premier's Reading Challenges! It is great to see such a keen passion for reading at Lockleys North. Remember, there is still plenty of time to finish your challenge. The due date is Friday September 4th, Week 7 of Term 3.
BORROWING
Increases to student loan limits will be continuing into term 3. Please note the following:
Receptions – Can borrow 4 books
Years 1, 2, 3, 4 - Can borrow 8 books
Years 5, 6, 7 – Can borrow 10 books
Parents – Can borrow 10 books
RETURNING
Students can either place books they want to return in their classroom library box or directly into the green returns box in the library (please see photo). Please note that lost or damaged books will incur a $10 payment.
OVERDUE BOOKS
School policy states that $10 is the replacement cost for each book not returned. Your child will be unable to borrow until the book(s) are returned or the $10 payment is made to the Tirkandi library or Front Office via cash only. If the book is found the money will be refunded.
