Hello and welcome to a new term of learning and creativity. You have all done such a wonderful job of learning Art from home. I am very excited to see all of the amazing creations you make this term. 

 

Prep 

Learning Intention: To understand how to use characters in books to inspire artworks. 

Learners will look at books such as ‘Blue Chameleon’ and ‘Bob the Artist’ to inform and inspire their own artworks.  

 

Year 1 

Learning Intention:  To understand how to create a colour wheel.  

Learners will learn about the artist Takashi Murakami and how he uses the colour wheel in his Artworks. Learners will then transfer this knowledge to create their own artworks using the colour wheel. 

 

Year 2  

Learning Intention: To understand how the Artist Giuseppe Arcimboldo creates his artworks. 

Learners will investigate the artist Giuseppe Arcimboldo and his artwork using fruits and vegetables. Learners will then transfer this knowledge to create their own portraits using fruits and vegetables. 

 

Year 3 

Learning Intention: To understand how the Artist Salvador Dali creates his artworks. 

Learners will investigate the artist Salvador Dali and his surrealist style artworks. Learners will then transfer this knowledge to create their surrealist collages. 

 

Year 4 

Learning Intention: To understand how to create interesting photographs using a variety of techniques. 

Learners will investigate a variety of photography techniques that promote creativity. Once students learn these techniques they will then transfer this knowledge in the creation of their own photographs. 

 

Year 5 and Year 6 

Learning Intention: To understand how to create a stop motion animation that portrays a storyline. 

Learners will investigate the process of creating animations with stop motion. They will develop individual storylines and explore different potential materials they can manipulate in the creation of a stop motion animation. Once learners create their stop motion animation, they will investigate the use of audio and sound effects to enhance their final product.
