ADF Information Evening at Exies Griffith Tuesday 25th May 2022

Do you know what a petty officer second class is? These students now do!

On Tuesday evening, the ADF spoke about the many courses available in the Australian armed forces. The evening specialised in trade jobs and how students can enter a trade. Both presenters spoke on their passion for their roles in the army and navy. Students asked several questions at the end and received some fun merchandise as souvenirs.

Cooper said, “It was a really good evening with lots of useful information on what’s available in the army, navy and airforce.”

TAFE Youth Engagement Strategy (YES) Program

This Friday, sixteen of our Year 9 and 10 students will begin TAFE’s YES program. Please see the list of names here and the activities they will undertake.

The YES program is a way for students to experience a trade with hands on activities and, sometimes, a completed project to take home with them at the end of the program.

If the student enjoys their experience, they may wish to enrol in a School Based Apprenticeship or Traineeship (SBAT) the following year. Helpful pathways to a bright future!
