A Message from the Principal

Mrs Pauline Long

Dear Parents and Carers,

School Attendance

I encourage you to aim for over 90% attendance for your children this term. Regular school attendance is vital for each student to reach their learning potential. Covid protocols must be followed but I am concerned some students are having days off for appointments that could be scheduled out of school time or for family holidays. Please add an explanation for your child’s absence via Compass; preferably on the first day of the absence.

NAIDOC Week

Last Thursday, we celebrated NAIDOC Week with a special assembly and creative workshops.  Students engaged with 3 workshops, including a dance lesson led by Krystle Lamb (Opportunity Hub - Tamworth).  Thank you to everyone for your enthusiasm and respect.  We especially thank all the families and friends who were able to join us for this very important acknowledgement.

Liturgy for Grandparents and the Elderly

Today we welcomed our friends, families and most importantly our grandparents and elderly members of our community to St Joseph's Primary School.  The students celebrated a lovely liturgy, with the feast of Saints Joachim and Anne as our focus. Following the liturgy, the students invited our guests to the classrooms before enjoying a beautiful morning tea of pikelets, biscuits, tea and coffee.  Thank you to Jack Bennett for your photography skills and to our amazing Education Assistants for helping to prepare the delicious morning tea.  A wonderful time was had by all.  A video clip of the day will be available later this week.  Thank you to everyone for making this such a memorable occasion.
