Term 2 has already been a whirlwind of busy ness, dare we hope that things may calm ‘just a little’ as we move forward into the rest of this Term?
To me our School community feels much more settled compared with Term 1. We acknowledge the challenges we have had, we do our best to simply keep striving to do our best, all the while practicing patience and love.
I had my first experience last week of attending the annual May Camp for our Cadets. The setting, the staff, the leaders, the students, the atmosphere, it was very inspiring and left me with such a sense of positivity and joy at how amazing our students and staff are.
Uniting Church Lunch Volunteers.
With the assistance of the wonderful Mrs. Lia Mailes, and four very motivated Year 11 young women, we prepared and served a midday meal for people experiencing hardship at the Uniting Church here in Hamilton on Tuesday. All the food is prepared in our Food Technology kitchen and a special thanks must go to Mrs. Lyn Graham who was no end of support and assistance to us. The Uniting Church, along with many local volunteers, provide this lunch every Tuesday. I was told that for some folk this is the only substantial meal they will have in the week.
These girls were an inspiration showing much enthusiasm, initiative and humour. They were a pleasure to work with and we thank you most sincerely. Well done to you all.
