In the word “question” there is the beautiful word “quest”. I love that word. We are all partners in the quest. The essential questions have no answers. You are my question, and I am yours – and then there is dialogue… Elie Weisel
Throughout the beginning of 2022 we have continually asked our Monivae community to ask questions. Why are we doing this? What is this happening in the world? Every question gets our community thinking and more involved it what it means to be a member of the Catholic community. We undertake dialogue and we grow through it.
As part of this dialogue we have discovered that many others are less fortunate than ourselves. This is the why and the what that is answered. During Project Compassion, over $1200 was raised for this important activity to help others, but more importantly dialogue was opened regarding the plight of others.
I would like to thank everyone who donated last Term.
As part of the Easter celebrations we began the term with our Resurrection Liturgy. It was an opportunity to renew our understanding and open our eyes to our faith moving forward for the rest of the year. The gospel story of the Road to Emmaus gave us an opportunity to reflect on what it is that is in front of us, but we can be blind to.
Our wonderful student leaders once again did a wonderful job with this Liturgy.
Our staff also partake in dialogue to continue the ongoing education of all involved with our community. In the first week of May, Ms. Brighid Cannon – Religious Education Leader, joined me at the Staff Formation Network, a gathering of the Directors of Faith and Mission from the four MSC schools. This time was used to discuss ways our MSC Charism can continued to be formed.
A thanks goes out to all involved in the annual Cadet Camp Liturgy, particularly Father Paddy. This opportunity for our Cadet community to come together to pray is always an important time in our spiritual journey at Monivae.
