HAPE WEEK

MS LAURA CROW - HEALTH & PHYSICAL EDUCATION CURRICULUM LEADER

WOW! What a pleasure it was to be a part of HAPE week. It was uplifting to see the students from all year levels engage in the many activities on offer.

We know that when students engage in physical activity it has the greatest potential for increasing health benefits as it generates more energy expenditure, reduces anxiety and stress, improves self esteem, mood and concentration.

Approximately 60 students engaged in a talk from the Periods, Pain and Endometriosis Program (PPEP). It is a one hour, positive, fun, educational and interactive program that demystifies periods and pelvic pain. It includes discussion around normal menstruation, how to recognise when symptoms are abnormal, simple ways to improve symptoms and when to look further for help.

A picture tells 1000 words…….

Thank you to Milly Op't Hoog (past student) and Bronte from Swan Hill Health Promotions who set up a display in the LRC highlighting three key messages; eat fruit and vegetables, move more often and smile together.

David Alderuccio joined us from AFL Central Murray to generate some footy fun in the yard. Sonny Beasy and Charlie King showcased their skills, by being the only two participants to kick the footy into the bucket!

The NINJA WARRIOR championships, proved to be a huge success with over 30 students fighting it out for the glory of NINJA WARRIOR CHAMPION 2022.

Xavier Sherlock was the champion finishing the course in 24.53 seconds followed ever so closely by Robert Rush on 24.59.

Ned Ryan gave this activity a double thumbs up!!

Well done to Ben Derbas who was the champion of the Basketball Arcade Mania! He scored 99 points in 53 seconds!!!
