CONGRATULATIONS to July’s TOP WRITERS!

Well done to the many talented students who entered Writer of the Month in July. 

HUGE congratulations to: Abby Humphreys (Year 12F),Ruby Weir (Year 12N),Anika Deshmukh (Year 11C),Eric Jiang (Year 9I), Morgan Staples (Year 9I) and Maleesha Dharmadasa (Year 8F). These students have each won a $50 (Senior) and $30 (Junior) voucher from Benn’s Books and gained 50 points for their house.

YEAR 9 ENGLISH

From the beginning of Term Three, all Year 9 classes have embarked on a brand new English unit called Myths and Legends. We are really hoping that the students will enjoy engaging with culturally significant stories from a range of different cultures and eras, ranging from Indigenous Australian creation beliefs to Hawaii, ancient Greece and a galaxy far, far away. 

Throughout human history every community has told itself stories of awe inspiring and terrifying events and demonic and heroic beings. Let’s cross between cultures and compare the most creative and destructive forces in the human imagination.
