Here is a presentation from our partners The Resilience Project and is all about Mindfulness.
Mindfulness is our ability to be calm and present at any given moment. We practise this by slowing down and concentrating on one thing at a time.
Thousands of studies have proven benefits include reduced stress, reduced rumination, increased memory, increased cognitive function and physical health benefits through improved immunity.

Thank you to all students, staff and families who participated in activities or discussed topics at home that promoted awareness of International Women’s Day. Special mention to Ms Vo, Ms Metcalf and Mr Ford who shared the shero’s in their lives and their experiences with “breaking the gender bias” with students at a lunchtime panel discussion.
IDAHOBIT Day
On the 17th of May BHHS celebrated IDAHOBIT Day with students raising awareness about the importance of diversity and respecting all in our community regardless of their sexual orientation or gender. Students organised rainbow face painting, signed pledges against discrimination and painted the quadrangle in rainbow chalk pictures.
Student’s reflected that:
“We feel like IDAHOBIT day means a day where it is recognised that LGBTQIA+ people are the same as everyone else in the world. We think this day reminds people about pride. We should always respect and care for our friends and classmates who identify as LGBTQIA+. This is what we think IDAHOBIT day means to us. To remind people to always support the LGBTQIA+ community.”
