Congratulations to all the cast, crew, band and creative team involved with Box Hill’s 2022 musical production of Monty Python’s Spamalot!  Over 60 students have been working since late last year to bring our show to life and I could not be prouder of what we managed to achieve, despite challenging circumstances and Covid threatening us at every turn. We put on five excellent shows, with most nights selling out. We even had to squeeze in extra chairs for the Saturday night session once word had spread about the funny, delightful and witty show and the incredibly talented cast, crew and band. It was particularly exciting that every student was able to perform given the concerns around absences, and it seemed they were spurred on by the audience’s enthusiasm with each show getting better and better.

This was a special experience for all students involved – for some it was their first show, for others their last after taking part in every BHHS production they could. For myself as Director, the joy came in watching each and every student come alive and find new depths for their characters onstage and seeing the friendships and camaraderie built behind the scenes. We thank everyone in the Box Hill community for their support; it is vital we keep showing up for The Arts and I encourage all students to get involved next year!
