INTERSCHOOL SPORT

Term 2 has been an extremely busy term for Interschool Sport, with several teams heading out every week. There has been an overwhelming amount of participation across all year levels in a wide range of sports – Netball, Badminton, Table Tennis, Soccer and AFL. We have also come away with some fantastic results at Division level, with several teams proceeding to the Easter Metropolitan Regional stage next term. These teams are:

  • Intermediate Boys Netball
  • Intermediate Boys Soccer
  • Intermediate Girls Soccer
  • Year 8 Girls Soccer

Congratulations and good luck to all those involved.  A big thank you to everyone who has participated and represented BHHS in Interschool Sport so far this year! If you’re interested in getting involved in Interschool Sport next term, keep a look out on Teams for future sign ups and potential try outs.

CROSS COUNTRY

The last day of Term One our school celebrated the Annual BHHS Cross Country & Walk for Wellbeing. The Cross Country & Wellbeing Walk was held a little differently this year, with the event being held on campus. The Cross Country circuit consisted of 3 laps of the BHHS campus, a combination of bike and walking paths as well as the school grounds. The Wellbeing Walk was held on the oval and consisted of smaller activities that students could participate in whilst walking with their friends. It was a beautiful sunny day and a fantastic way to end the term. Congratulations to Freeman House for taking out the win for Cross Country!  The final points tally was:

Freeman House – 200

Chang – 167

Blackburn – 162

Irwin – 158

DIVISION CROSS COUNTRY

70 BHHS students attended the Division Cross Country at Ruffey Lake Park on Friday the 29th of April. We had some amazing results that day, with roughly 30 participants qualifying for the Eastern Metropolitan Regional event which will take place on Tuesday the 14th of June. Congratulations to all those involved and best of luck to those competing in the EMR competition.

ATHLETICS DAY

It was a cold day for the Annual BHHS Athletics Carnival but that didn’t stop the participation and the success of the day!  It was fantastic to see students getting involved in all of the events, and even taking out the win in the Teachers VS Student Relay. It was a great day to witness the display of house spirit and the athletic ability of the BHHS students.

Ultimately, it was Chang House that claimed victory by a demanding lead! Here are the total scores from this year’s carnival:

1st - Chang (979 points)
