We had 6 of our ASC boys represent North West at the Boys NSWCHSSA Volleyball Championships in Bathurst.
Special recognition and congrats to Kymani Quaife who was awarded North West's Most Valued Player and to Toby Cooper and Henry Sindel who made the Country Team for a City vs Country exhibition match.
A big congratulations to Henry who has been selected for the NSW Combined High Schools volleyball team. Well done!
New South Wales Combined High Schools representation is the highest honour a student in New South Wales can attain. In achieving this representation they have become part of a great tradition.
Students from Years 7-10 participated in the NSW Touch All Schools Regional Qualifier at Inverell.
Our girls and boys teams won some games and had some narrow losses to the stronger teams.
The sportsmanship shown by our students on the field was outstanding. Our students played with effort in the heat, game after game, and ensured every player had lots of time enjoying the game of Touch football.
Our teams did not make the finals, although the improved strength of ASC Touch football was clearly evident.
70 ASC students participated in the community Netball Gala Day this past week.
All the boys and girls who participated thoroughly enjoyed the day and the opportunity to play netball with fellow students from our community of schools.
Rugby is going from strength to strength at ASC. Last year our girls loved the Friday night rugby. Training has already begun during sport on a Wednesday and Thursday. Girls who are interested in playing rugby this season, please see Mr Lawry or Mr Walker for more details.
Bradman Walker, Jack Armatage and Jarrod Butler have been selected to play rugby union for Central North this season. They will be attending the training camp at Lake Keepit over the weekend, and then to Mudgee to play against Central West. Over the school holidays they will be flying out to USA and Canada as they have been selected to join the NSW Country Rugby Opens Development squad.
What a tremendous opportunity for the boys to travel and improve their game. Well done to them all for this significant achievement!
