Year 10 Pathways Program
Last week, year 10 students participated a 3 day Pathways Program. During this time, students were able to progress through a Workbook containing career planning and research activities and set up a Career Voyage profile, completing an interest inventory resulting in a list of possible careers for further exploration. The girls then undertook career and course research utilising a range of online sources with particular emphasis on considering prerequisite subjects required by universities and TAFEs.
On day 2 of the program, students attended a range of presentations on topics including Flexibility for the Future, Managing Uncertainty and Understanding Pathways at PCW. A particular highlight was a panel of year 12 students sharing tips and experiences on subject selection and managing time as Senior Students.
The program concluded by attending the VCE and Careers Expo at the Caulfield Racecourse where year 10s had the opportunity to collect information from over 100 exhibitors and attend presentation by various universities and training providers.
