From the Principal

Dear Parents and Guardians

Advent

As we enter the second week of Advent we are reminded that we are preparing for the coming of Christ at Christmas. This coming brings expectation, reflection, hope and trust.  Advent reminds us that we are waiting. In this time of waiting we look to encourage the children to look at ways they can be closer to God. This may be through prayer or by how they live out our Gospel values. During the season of Advent we encourage the children and  their families to be both excited about Christmas and to look at ways in which they can prepare for the coming of Christ.

Classes for 2021

On Monday the students will find out their class and teacher for 2021. This is an exciting and sometimes nervous time for students. The staff have spent a large amount of time looking at each student during the process. Many factors including requests were taken into consideration.  I thank the staff for their efforts with the class lists. These will be our final classes.

Prep Transition

Our  first full transition session took place today.  It was great we were able to have all our students for 2021 in their class with their teacher. It was fantastic to see their smiling faces

Graduation

Our Year 6 students will celebrate their graduation on Thursday 10th December.   The evening will commence with Mass  at 6.00pm and will be followed by presentations which will conclude approx 7.45pm. Parents will then be able depart for the children to have dinner.  ( Only Yr 6 students and their parents are allowed to attend)

Staff Leaving

We have three staff members who will be leaving us ( in varying forms) at the end of this year.

Jenny McCausland

Jenny has decided to retire after over 27 years of teaching in the catholic system

She  commenced at St Bede's in 2009 and devoted the next 12 years to supporting and teaching students the skills to actively engage in a variety of sports.

Jenny has always been supportive of students, staff, parents and the school.  She is looking forward to what the next stage in her life brings.

On behalf of the community I would like to thank  and acknowledge Jenny for all she has done for our community.

Laura Jeffreys

Laura will be taking  maternity leave at the end of this year with the birth of her first child  expected early next year.  This is an exciting time for Laura and Shannon and we look forward to hearing the happy news in 2021.  We look forward to a visit next year and see you back at St Bede's in the near future.

Freida Mallis

Freida will be leaving St Bede's at the end of this year as she prepares for the birth of her second child. Freida in her short time at St Bede's has had  a positive impact with students staff and parents. We wish Freida and Anastasios on the upcoming birth of their second child. We can't wait to hear the news and look forward to a visit.

Have a great week

Brian
