Around The School

Message from the

Co-Curricular Coordinator

Welcome back to 2021 and welcome to new school community members.  It brings me great pleasure to present my first newsletter article in relation to my new role as Co-curricular Coordinator. Over the last few days I have been lucky enough to be in discussions with staff in relation to the activities that we are looking at doing for the 2021 co-curricular program. In addition to activities we have done previously, such as Tournament of Minds, sports carnivals and the Lions Youth of the Year, staff have been very keen to identify other exciting activities that we can offer.  These have included potential activities such as the Great Victorian Bike Ride, morning training in the new weights room, book club, and more debating, just to name a few.

It would be great to get your input into our program. If you have any suggestions please email them through to me (gcadd@moamagrammar.nsw.edu.au).  I will, no doubt, be looking for helpers throughout the year so if you are able to volunteer your time or expertise, please let me know!

School Farm Updates

Over the school holidays our school sheep along with Bruce the Ram have been enjoying the wide open spaces and plenty of feed on  on a nice big farm north of Moama. They will be returning to school mid February. Hopefully all the ewes will be pregnant and lambing should begin late April/early May. A massive thank you to Mr Bruce Barnes-Webb for hosting the sheep on their summer break.

Mr Barnes-Webb has also gone above and beyond by donating a scale to the school farm and then building a cage to house the scales. The materials for the cage came from a generous donation from a MAG family last year.

The scales which will be used to monitor the weight of our sheep and lambs throughout the year.
