Kindergarten News

Dear Families,
I am wanting to communicate to you that Jo McColl has been absent due to some family health concerns and unfortunately will not be returning at the end of the year, we are hoping for the opportunity to say goodbye to Jo on our last day. Jo has been an incredible member of the Kindergarten team and we wish her well and every blessing for next year.

Dickens Room
It's hard to think that we are in our last full week of the Kindergarten year! It surely has been a year like no other, Mardi and I are so incredibly proud of how each child has grown and developed and in our discussions and reflections, we can acknowledge that we have had an incredible year despite the challenges! So to say that we are feeling some emotions, is an understatement!
The week has been busy and focused again! With our Wimbi children building some incredible structures with the big blocks, being absorbed in water play, engaging in art and some incredible dramatic play also.
Our Marram class had a evacuation drill to the oval on Tuesday, they did so well at responding to the directions and staying safe. The children visited the school with Treesje in small groups as well this week, this allowed the children to ask questions, discover similarities and differences and build a deeper connection to the transition of starting school next year.
We are looking forward to our last full week of Teaching our classes! It will be a wonderful week!
Al and Mardi.
Moore Room
Another busy amazing week in the Moore room. We had big body movements on some great equipment, allowing for us to work on gross motor skills and balance in movement in the sports program. Cristina worked with the children to perfect our colours and numbers recognition in Mandarin through a cause and effect experience.
We have thoroughly enjoyed some cooking in the home corner, Xmas puzzles, books and craft as well as decorating the tree. There has been some amazing work with the outdoor big blocks with some great structures being built to accommodate some fantastic ideas and scripts in play. Some of the Foundation teachers were able to visit us as we enjoyed these moments and we were able to share with them our creativity and talents. Treesje was able to take the children in small groups up to the school whereby they were able to ask questions and look at some similarities and differences between kinder and school.
We had a lovely afternoon with the Gawarn group up in the garden and were able to find a strawberry or two. We hope to get up there with both groups in this last full week of kinder.
Have a fantastic week!
Kelly-Anne, Treesje, Julie, Jo and Cristina
